Happy 33 Weeks!!

Well, we made it to 33 weeks!!  It is quite a good benchmark considering this all started almost 12 weeks ago.  It's amazing how fast time has passed and how lucky we have been to have many weeks go by with a very stable course - I feel so incredibly lucky to have made it this far!!
This week has continued to go well.  After all of our excitement on Monday and Tuesday, it seemed as though things were settling back down.  I continued to take the medication to slow contractions and had been doing nothing more than laying down all day and night.  Thursday morning brought some more excitement!  My parents returned from their big yellowstone trip (they came home earlier than planned due to my change in condition!) and about an hour before they arrived, I started to have more contractions - about 3-5 minutes apart, and feeling quite painful!  So, I called my doctor, and we decided to increase the medicine (Nifedipine) frequency to see if that would help slow things back down.  During my conversation with the doctor, she mentioned that if the increase in medication didn't make a big difference, that they wouldn't do much more to attempt to stop labor.  Because we were able to get the steroid injections to help the baby's lungs mature on tuesday and weds (24 hours apart), I guess the protocol is to let a baby at this gestation deliver if labor occurs.
So - now we wait!!  Luckily the contractions did slow down with the increased dose of Nifedipine, and they seem to have remained pretty quiet through today.  My mom has spent the day with me helping get the baby room prepared for this unpredictable little lady, and we have had a wonderful day!  Tom is busy this weekend hosting a bachelor party for our good friend Greg, so he has been calling hourly to check in on me and make sure that nothing has changed!  Hopefully we can continue to keep things quiet through this weekend so that we can try to get this little lady growing for at least a few more days, if not a few more weeks!  At this point, when she will arrive seems to be anybody's guess ;-)  We are just excited and hopeful that when she does decide to arrive that she will be healthy and strong!
I am going to try to post some pictures of my growing bump, and also a few of the progress in the baby room - but I'm still new at this whole blogging adventure, so forgive me if it doesn't work out perfectly!  Love to all of you!
